2021 Gifts for Jesus
Le Bon Berger, The Good Shepherd
“This school in Togo provides quality education and exposes children and their families to the gospel.”
For about 25 years
the Cornerstone body has been given the opportunity to make a special offering every December toward one of our supported missionary families or missions organizations. We call this our “Gifts for Jesus.” This year our “Gifts for Jesus” will be directed toward a ministry need in Togo, Africa.
This need has been identified by our missionaries Stephen and Lisa Wreesman. Their main ministry is at the Hospital of Hope in Mango, Togo. However, their heart is even more drawn toward building up the local church in Togo. One of the local churches their team is connected with, Bel Amour, runs a K-3rd Grade Christian school called The Good Shepherd (Le Bon Berger in French). The hospital, the church and the school are all connected by a common fellowship of believers. Many of the school’s students come from Muslim families in the community. This school provides quality education and exposes children and their families to the gospel. While some of the missionaries assist with the oversight of the school, the teachers and school director are Togolese believers.
The Good Shepherd
The Good Shepherd is part of a wider association of Christian schools in Togo started through the mission organization (ABWE). There are currently around 120 students enrolled. Their present initiative is to expand the school by adding a new grade each year. A deposit has been madeon some land, and plans are in place to construct and expand their elementary buildings.
A goal of $50,000
ABWE has raised $50,000 for this project. Another $50,000 is needed to complete the land purchase and construct the buildings. We are happy to present this opportunity to the Cornerstone family as the 2021 “Gifts for Jesus.” Please look out for church announcements on how to give during our December 19 service.
