MY CARE GROUP
By Heather J. Davis
1-14-06
I went to my new care group last Sunday night. While driving to the study, I felt quite a fright.
I stopped in front of the house, not getting out of the car, I called Rosy one last time, walked up to the door, not far.
Ron and Lillian are the first people I see, They always have smiles for me!
I step over the threshold, and lo and behold, There is Phyllis motioning to me.
She immediately made me feel welcome; had saved me a seat, She had an award winning smile which nothing could defeat.
Helen and Virginia came to greet me with a "hi",
They made me feel at ease; they know that I am shy.
We sang different songs which I enjoyed very much.
You see, singing and I have been out of touch.
We took the Lord's Supper, my first time in years.
For the better, I see my life is now switching gears,
Bill begins to speak and shares from his heart,
The things with which his old self must now depart.
He says he could list letters A to Z which is exactly like me,
I'm glad I'm not the only one in desperate need!
For all who have welcomed me,
Gone to great lengths,
I guess what I'm trying to say is...THANKS!
